Horsham Coffee Roaster

A Sussex roastery from Bradley and Amelia Steenkamp, shaped by precision and sourcing

Horsham Coffee Roaster was founded by Bradley and Amelia Steenkamp and is based in West Sussex. What began as a small, quality-focused operation has grown steadily over time, earning a reputation for thoughtful sourcing, careful roasting and consistently well-judged coffees.

Their Coffee Range

Horsham’s range is built around clarity, structure and balance, moving between carefully developed blends and a rotating line-up of single origins that highlight origin without becoming hard work to drink.

The blends are dependable and versatile. Workhorse is exactly that - a reliable, chocolate-led espresso designed for everyday brewing, while Nova Espresso brings a little more brightness and fruit into the cup. Cooperative Coffee offers a balanced, easy-going profile that works comfortably across espresso and filter, and Supernova pushes things slightly further, with a fuller, more expressive style.

The single origins are where things open up. Coffees like El Zumo and El Mirador offer clean, structured profiles with citrus and stone fruit, while Kenya Kangunu and Bwishaza Honey bring brighter acidity and more expressive fruit. At the more distinctive end, coffees such as Arturo Arango Sudan Rume and La Isla Catigua show just how varied flavour can be, with more layered profiles that still remain balanced.

Decaf is treated with the same care. Kericho Decaf is selected and roasted to retain sweetness and clarity, offering a cup that feels complete rather than compromised.

More About Horsham Coffee Roaster

Horsham’s approach is defined by precision, but it never feels rigid. Each coffee is carefully profiled and roasted with close attention to how small changes affect flavour, texture and balance, with decisions guided as much by taste as by data.

Sourcing sits at the centre of that process. The team works closely with producers and import partners to secure coffees that are fully traceable and consistently high quality, with an emphasis on long-term relationships and paying prices that support stability at origin.

Roasting takes place in Sussex using modern equipment chosen for control and consistency. The aim is not to put a heavy hand on the coffee, but to bring out what is already there - allowing each one to express its character clearly and brew well at home.

There is also a clear sense of responsibility in how the business runs day to day. From sourcing and packaging to energy use, the focus is on making considered choices that reduce impact where possible, without turning it into a headline.
