Peach, Lime, Chocolate
A washed Ethiopian from Horsham's sourcing trips to the Guji zone, the Hambella brings peach and lime to the cup with a gentle chocolate finish. Grown at high altitude and carefully processed on raised beds in Gedeb, it's a light roast filter coffee with a clean, defined character - the kind that rewards a slow morning rather than a rushed one.

Sun-bright Ethiopian, clean as glass
This Ethiopian washed coffee comes from the Hambella farm in the Guji zone, founded by brothers Aman and Michael Adinew. Aman's background running quality control at the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange - and setting up the country's first speciality coffee lab - gives you a sense of how seriously the farm takes its work. Grown at altitude between 1,900 and 2,200 metres from a mix of Dega, Kudhume and Wolisho varietals, the coffee is processed just over the border in Gedeb, dried slowly on raised beds for 21 days and turned by hand throughout.
The result is a light roast filter coffee with a clean, bright character: peach and lime up front, with chocolate rounding things out as it cools. It scored 87 points, which reflects the care taken at every stage from farm to bag. Bradley at Horsham has been visiting producers in Ethiopia and beyond for years, and this is the kind of coffee that shows why those relationships matter - a well-sourced, carefully processed single origin that drinks with clarity and a little elegance.
If you enjoy fruit-forward filter coffees with real definition, this one's worth your time.
