Chocolate
A rich, chocolatey dark roast that's 99.9% caffeine-free, this Swiss Water Decaf from Owens drinks with the same care and quality as the rest of their organic, specialty-grade range. Smooth and satisfying as espresso or filter, it's the kind of coffee you can reach for at any hour without a second thought.

Rich, chocolatey dark roast, caffeine-free
Decaf has a reputation problem it doesn't always deserve, and this one is a fair rebuttal. Owens' Swiss Water Decaf is rich and chocolatey - the kind of dark roast that feels satisfying and complete, not like something's been taken away. The Swiss Water Process removes 99.9% of the caffeine using water rather than chemical solvents, which keeps the flavour clean and lets the coffee's natural character come through.
Organic from the start, like everything Owens roasts, the beans are independently graded as specialty before they reach the drum in Ivybridge - so the quality baseline is the same as the rest of the range, just without the caffeine. It works well as espresso or filter, holds up with milk, and is the sort of coffee you can reach for at any point in the day without a second thought.
If you've been putting off exploring decaf, or you've had one too many disappointing cups in that corner of the shelf, this is a good place to start.

About the Roaster
Owens has been roasting coffee in Ivybridge since 2010, and Lorraine - who came to the craft from a career in biotech - brings a scientist's instinct for precision to every batch. Every coffee they sell is organic, Fairtrade, and independently graded as specialty, a standard they've held from the start. They were the first dedicated organic coffee roaster in the South West, and nothing about that commitment has shifted since.
