Rose hip, Orange, Cranberry
A washed Kenyan with real presence - cranberry and orange up front, a rose hip finish, and a silky body that holds it all together. Grown in the volcanic soils of Kirinyaga County from the SL28 and Ruiru 11 varietals, it's a fruit-forward cup that works beautifully through an Aeropress or a long cafetière brew, and tends to convert people to Kenyan coffee pretty quickly.

Floral, fruit-forward Kenya with lift
Kenya has a way of making itself known in the cup, and this one from Kirinyaga County - grown in the rich red volcanic soils just south of Mount Kenya - is a fine example of why the country's coffees are so well regarded. At 87 on the SCA scale, it's a washed coffee that leads with cranberry and orange sweetness, a rose hip perfume on the finish, and a silky body that carries it all together.
The SL28 and Ruiru 11 varietals were bred specifically for the Kenyan climate, and you can taste the care that's gone into their development. There's an upfront brightness here that's lively without being sharp, and a sweetness that lingers. Andy from the Wogan team brews his through an Aeropress bypass recipe and gets a juicy, floral result; James puts his through a cafetière on a long immersion and finds the cranberry really opens up. Both are worth trying.
This is a coffee that rewards a little patience. It suits anyone who enjoys a fruit-forward cup with real clarity - whether you're brewing for one on a quiet morning or sharing a pot.

About the Roaster
Wogan Coffee has been part of Bristol's fabric for over fifty years, now run across three generations with one branch in Bristol and another in London. As a wholly independent family company, they've spent decades learning not just how to roast well, but how to do it responsibly - paying the living wage, running solar-powered roasteries, and delivering locally by cargo bike.
