Strawberry, Peach, Honey
Anthracite No.2 is a natural process espresso from Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains, arriving in pod form with all its fruit-forward character intact - strawberry, peach, dried fruits and honey in a juicy, rounded cup. The pods are 100% home-compostable and plastic-free, compatible with all original Nespresso machines, and ground to pull the best from a longer extraction.

Fruity, juicy natural espresso pods
Anthracite No.2 is a natural process coffee from Uganda's Rwenzori Mountains, and in pod form it carries all the character of the original - strawberry, peach, dried fruits and honey woven through a juicy, fruit-forward espresso. Natural process coffees tend to wear their flavours openly, and this one is no different: there's a softness to the sweetness, a kind of sun-dried richness that makes it feel generous rather than sharp.
The pods themselves are 100% home-compostable and plastic-free, which matters given that 30,000 aluminium and plastic capsules go to landfill every minute. These can go straight into your food waste collection or home compost heap. They're compatible with all original Nespresso machines and ground specifically for a longer extraction - Coaltown suggest 25-30g for a short coffee, 60-80g for a long one, though your own taste is the best guide. If you like your espresso with fruit and warmth rather than straight bitterness, this is a good place to land.

About the Roaster
Scott James set up Coaltown in Ammanford, a South Wales town that ran on anthracite coal for generations, with a straightforward idea: that great coffee could give a post-industrial community something to rally around again. The team roasts daily in small batches, working a range that moves from easy-drinking espresso blends through to more expressive single origins.
