Chocolate, Butterscotch, Daim
Drifft Half Caff No.6 is a smooth, chocolatey blend built for the moments when you want the comfort of a proper coffee without the full caffeine hit. A post-blend of natural process and Sugar Cane EA decaf beans from Brazil, Peru and the DR Congo, it delivers chocolate, butterscotch and a hint of Daim in a cup that's easy to reach for at any point in the day.

Chocolate, butterscotch, half the caffeine.
Drifft Half Caff No.6 is Coaltown's answer to the question of what happens when you want the ritual without the full caffeine load. It's a post-blend of two distinct halves: a Sugar Cane Ethyl Acetate decaf drawing on beans from South Kivu in the DR Congo and Fazenda Do Salto in Brazil, and a natural process coffee from Brazil and Peru. The result is a cup that sits somewhere between a full-caff espresso and a decaf, carrying chocolate and butterscotch through the middle with a hint of Daim - that particular combination of caramel and almond - rounding things off.
The name Drifft comes from Welsh, nodding both to the idea of moving through your day at a gentler pace and to the drift mine entrances that once defined the landscape around Coaltown's home in Ammanford. It's a detail that fits the coffee well - unhurried, considered, and a little quieter than the rest of the range. If you find yourself reaching for a second or third cup in the afternoon but want to sleep at some point, this is a natural place to land. It works well across brew methods, though its smooth, rounded profile is particularly at home pulled as an espresso or through a cafetiere.

About the Roaster
Scott James set up Coaltown in Ammanford, a South Wales town that ran on anthracite coal for generations, with a straightforward idea: that great coffee could give a post-industrial community something to rally around again. The team roasts daily in small batches, working a range that moves from easy-drinking espresso blends through to more expressive single origins.
