Grown on small farms in the volcanic soils of San Ignacio, high in Peru's Cajamarca department, Montaña is a washed coffee harvested between 1,400 and 1,700 metres. Certified organic, shade-dried, and processed with care - it's a clean, sweet cup that settles quietly into a daily routine without asking anything of you.

Clean, high-altitude Andean organic brightness
Montaña - Spanish for mountain - is a regional organic blend from San Ignacio, a high-altitude province in Peru's Cajamarca department. Volcanic soils and elevation between 1,400 and 1,700 metres create conditions well suited to sweet, full-bodied coffee, and the name fits: this is a coffee shaped by its landscape, grown by small-scale farmers across mountainous terrain within the wider Chanchamayo coffee belt.
The processing is careful and unhurried. Cherries are selected strictly for ripeness, floated and hand-sorted before being de-pulped and fermented for 20 to 30 hours. After washing, the parchment dries slowly in the shade over 15 to 20 days - a gentle approach that tends to preserve clarity and sweetness in the cup. The result is a washed Peruvian with clean, balanced character that works well across brew methods, whether you're pulling it through a filter or reaching for the cafetière. It's certified organic, and Dear Green's direct sourcing relationships mean the traceability behind it is solid.

About the Roaster
Dear Green was founded by Lisa Lawson in Glasgow in 2011 - one woman, one roaster, and a clear sense of what specialty coffee could be in Scotland. Fourteen years on, they're a B Corp-certified roastery with a full team, a training space, and sourcing built on direct relationships and transparency. There's also a Q Grader in house, which means every coffee on the list has been properly scrutinised before it gets anywhere near you.
