High-altitude Colombia, clean and bright
This washed, organic Colombian comes from ANEI - an organisation of native agroecological producers and farmers from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the Serranía del Perijá. ANEI was founded in 1995 by Aurora Izquierdo, the first Arhuaca native woman from the community of Yewrwa to study in Bogotá. Her aim was to organise the economy of the native and farming communities around her, using coffee as a way to strengthen and sustain their cultural presence. That context matters, because it shapes what ends up in the cup: coffee grown with care, at altitude, by communities with a long relationship with the land.
The washed process keeps things clean and clear, letting the coffee's natural character come through without the added weight of a natural or honey process. Grown across a wide altitude range of 1,200 to 2,200 metres, across several varieties including Typica, Bourbon, Caturra and Tabi, there's plenty of complexity to explore. About the Roaster
Dear Green was founded by Lisa Lawson in Glasgow in 2011 - one woman, one roaster, and a clear sense of what specialty coffee could be in Scotland. Fourteen years on, they're a B Corp-certified roastery with a full team, a training space, and sourcing built on direct relationships and transparency. There's also a Q Grader in house, which means every coffee on the list has been properly scrutinised before it gets anywhere near you.
