Tangerine, Bramble, Cane Sugar
A washed Red Bourbon from 1,800m in Rural Bujumbura, this Burundian single origin opens with tangerine citrus and a juicy bramble brightness before settling into a clean, lingering cane sugar finish. Grown by smallholder family farms on volcanic soil and processed at the Migoti washing station, it has a quiet composure that makes it easy to come back to.

Sweet, sun-bright highland fruit forward
This washed Red Bourbon from Rural Bujumbura is the kind of coffee that rewards a slower morning. Grown at 1,800m on small plots of volcanic soil by 384 smallholder family farms, the cool mountain altitude draws out cherry ripening slowly, concentrating sugars in a way that shows clearly in the cup. There's a brightness here that feels natural rather than sharp, with tangerine citrus up front, a bramble-like juiciness through the middle, and a cane sugar sweetness that lingers cleanly at the finish.
The coffee passes through the Migoti washing station - named after a local indigenous tree - which works directly with producers and importing partner Omwani to ensure premium pricing reaches the farmers growing it. Dear Green have been building sourcing relationships like this since Lisa Lawson started the roastery in Glasgow in 2011, and their in-house Q Grader means every coffee on their list has been properly assessed before it reaches you.
For a washed African coffee, this one sits in a sweet spot: vivid enough to be interesting, composed enough to drink every day.

About the Roaster
Dear Green was founded by Lisa Lawson in Glasgow in 2011 - one woman, one roaster, and a clear sense of what specialty coffee could be in Scotland. Fourteen years on, they're a B Corp-certified roastery with a full team, a training space, and sourcing built on direct relationships and transparency. There's also a Q Grader in house, which means every coffee on the list has been properly scrutinised before it gets anywhere near you.
