Fruity, Nutty
Cottage Blend is a medium roast filter coffee with a Scandinavian sensibility - mild, easy drinking, with a quiet fruitiness that surfaces in the finish. Roasted by hand in Abinger Hammer by Chris and Monika, it's built on Brazilian and Colombian beans and designed to be the coffee you reach for without a second thought - as welcome at three in the afternoon as it is first thing.

Mild, fruit-kissed filter for mornings
Cottage Blend is Surrey Hills Coffee's everyday filter option - a medium roasted blend of Brazilian and Colombian coffees that Chris and Monika developed with Scandinavian coffee culture in mind, drawing on memories of the coffees they drank growing up in Sweden. That heritage shows in the cup: mild and approachable, with a pleasant fruitiness in the finish that keeps things interesting without demanding your full attention. It's the kind of coffee that suits a quiet morning or a mid-afternoon break equally well.
The blend's composition shifts gently over time, always anchored by high-quality beans from Brazil and Colombia, chosen to keep the character consistent even as the specific components vary with the season. It's designed primarily for filter brewing - cafetiere, pour over, or whatever your daily routine calls for - but it holds up as an espresso too, where the medium roast comes through with a light, pleasant acidity. If you're buying ground, Surrey Hills will grind it to your preference; whole beans and a fresh grind at home will get you the most out of it.

About the Roaster
Founded in 2014 by Chris and Monika, Surrey Hills Coffee has been quietly doing things their own way - hand roasting specialty-grade coffee in the village of Abinger Hammer, deep in the Surrey Hills. They're not chasing trends; they're building a range that gives you something to come back to, whatever your taste or mood.
