Milk Chocolate, Caramel, Hazelnut
If you're after a house espresso that just works, The Block is a rich, creamy blend of Brazilian and Colombian coffee with milk chocolate, caramel and hazelnut, and a soft dried fruit sweetness. It pulls well as a straight shot and holds its own with milk - the kind of coffee you'll reach for on autopilot, and not feel the need to question.

Rich, creamy espresso for mornings
The Block is Redemption's house espresso blend, and it earns that role without any fuss. Built around Brazil and Colombia, it's a cup that feels immediately familiar - rich and creamy, with milk chocolate and caramel running through it, and a hazelnut warmth that lingers. There's a gentle dried fruit sweetness in there too, a quiet raisin note that adds just enough depth without pulling things somewhere unexpected.
It pulls well as an espresso and holds up with milk - a flat white or latte won't drown it, and a straight shot won't intimidate you. That balance is the point. If you want a coffee you can rely on every morning without thinking too hard about it, The Block is exactly that.
Redemption have been refining this blend since 2016, and it shows. There's a quiet confidence to it that you tend to find in coffees made the same careful way, many times over.

About the Roaster
Redemption Roasters was founded in 2016 when Ted and Max were approached by the Ministry of Justice to set up a roastery inside a prison - the idea being to train coffee skills to help reduce reoffending. Eight years on, they run barista academies across four prisons, employ prison leavers at their roastery and shops, and source specialty coffee with the same care and transparency they bring to everything else: direct relationships and honest sourcing.
