Red Grape, Cranberry, Vanilla
A washed Peruvian from a family microlot in La Libertad, this is a light, fruit-forward filter coffee with a silky mouthfeel and a warm vanilla finish. Red grape and cranberry lead the way, with enough sweetness and texture to make it as enjoyable on a slow weekend morning as a busy weekday one.

Bright, juicy and silky-smooth drinking
This washed Peruvian from La Libertad is the kind of filter coffee that earns its place in a slow morning - bright and fruit-forward, but with a silky, rounded quality that keeps it from feeling sharp. Red grape and cranberry give it a lively, almost juicy character, while vanilla softens the finish into something warm and easy to drink. Light enough to reward attention, but not so demanding that you need to pay it any.
The coffee comes from a microlot farmed by David Guevara Armijos, a second-generation grower working in the high-altitude, humid conditions of northern Peru - the kind of environment that tends to produce clean, expressive coffees. After harvest, the cherries are washed, depulped and fermented overnight before being dried slowly on raised beds and a lined patio over seven to ten days. That careful drying is a good part of what gives the cup its sweetness and texture. A V60 or pour over will bring out the fruit most clearly; a cafetiere will lean into the body and sweetness a little more.

About the Roaster
Volcano Coffee Works began with Kurt Stewart, a New Zealand-born chef, wheeling a vintage Piaggio Ape cart along a West Dulwich pavement and serving espresso to whoever fancied one. That spirit - unpretentious, curious, quietly determined - has carried through to a London roastery, two south London cafés, and a team built around the idea that good coffee should do good in the world as well as taste good in the cup.
