Stone Fruits, Hazelnut, Nutmeg
A naturally processed Brazilian from Monte Santo de Minas, Fazenda Mió is a medium-light roast with stone fruit and nutmeg up front, then a hazelnut and cocoa finish that lingers. It's a filter coffee that drinks best black - unhurried, a little spiced, and easy to keep coming back to.

Warm, spiced, fruit-kissed filter coffee
Fazenda Mió comes from Monte Santo de Minas in Brazil, processed naturally and roasted to a medium-light level that keeps the fruit alive without pushing the brightness too far. The result is warm and approachable - stone fruits and a gentle nutmeg spice up front, settling into hazelnut and cocoa as it cools. It's the kind of cup that rewards slowing down with it.
This one is built for filter. A V60 or pour-over draws out the lighter, fruitier side; a cafetiere leans into the sweetness and gives it a little more body. Either way, it's best drunk black - milk would soften the spiced, nutty notes that make it worth paying attention to.
Volcano Coffee Works have a longer relationship with Mió than simply buying their coffee. Together with the Instituto do Espirito Santo, they co-founded the Sombra Project, an agroforestry initiative working to move Brazilian coffee farming away from mono-crop culture. It's a long-term commitment to how this coffee is grown, not just how it tastes.

About the Roaster
Volcano Coffee Works began with Kurt Stewart, a New Zealand-born chef, wheeling a vintage Piaggio Ape cart along a West Dulwich pavement and serving espresso to whoever fancied one. That spirit - unpretentious, curious, quietly determined - has carried through to a London roastery, two south London cafés, and a team built around the idea that good coffee should do good in the world as well as taste good in the cup.
