Cottage Blend
Surrey Hills CoffeeA scandi style filter coffee
Cottage Blend is a light roast filter coffee with soft fruity notes, gentle acidity and a clean finish. Inspired by Scandinavian coffee traditions and by Chris and Monika’s own Swedish roots, it is made for slow brewing and easy sipping.

Cottage Blend is the lightest roast in the Surrey Hills Coffee range. It was created specifically for filter brewing and takes its cues from the clean and delicate flavour profiles often found in Scandinavian coffee. That influence runs deep. Chris and Monika, who roast every batch by hand in the heart of the Surrey Hills, both grew up in Sweden and this is the kind of coffee they fell in love with.
This is a Colombian single origin, roasted lightly to bring out a soft fruitiness, gentle acidity and a subtle hint of chocolate. It has a crisp and refined character that works beautifully with slower brewing methods such as pour over, AeroPress or drip filter.
Cottage Blend is not a bold coffee and it is not designed to be. It is gentle, clean and quietly complex. A refreshing change if you are used to richer or more intense espresso blends. Because of the light roast and delicate flavour profile, it is best enjoyed black without milk.
This is the kind of coffee that encourages you to slow down. It is thoughtful and well balanced but still easy to enjoy. Whether you are brewing your morning V60 or taking a quiet moment in the afternoon, Cottage Blend has a calm and confident presence.
It is a personal coffee for Chris and Monika. A reflection of their roots, their roasting style and their belief that coffee can be both simple and special. Roasted in small batches in the Surrey Hills, this is filter coffee at its most elegant.

About the Roaster
Surrey Hills Coffee was founded in 2014 by Chris and Monika, a Swedish couple who moved from London to the Surrey Hills in search of fresh air, good cycling and better coffee. What started as a passion project soon turned into a well-loved fixture of the local scene, with their small batch roastery nestled in the village of Abinger Hammer.
