Chesil Deep is a darker seasonal blend from Fountain Rock. With bold notes of dark chocolate, black cherry and roasted almond, it is a full bodied coffee with real depth. Rich and comforting, it is ideal for espresso and perfect in milk.
Chesil Deep is the boldest blend in the Fountain Rock line up. Named after the deep waters just off Chesil Beach on the Dorset coast, it is designed for those who enjoy coffee with strength, structure and a long lasting finish.
The profile leans into darker flavours, with Brazilian and Colombian origins brought together to create something rich and full. In the cup, you will find dark chocolate and cherry, with a subtle roasted almond character and a smooth, weighty body. It is full flavoured and comforting, with just enough complexity to keep things interesting.
Andrew Hall brings a thoughtful and precise approach to roasting, shaped by his background in science and technology. With Chesil Deep, that shows in the way the roast is dialled in. The development is carefully managed to retain sweetness and clarity, while still delivering the boldness that makes this blend so satisfying.
This is a coffee that thrives as espresso and works beautifully with milk. It is a natural choice for flat whites, lattes and longer brews that need a bit of body to hold their shape. Brewed black, it is strong but smooth, with a clean finish and lingering richness.

About the Roaster
After decades spent on the front lines of coffee service, slinging espressos and hustlin’ flat whites, we started Bad Hand with a commitment to roasting the best quality coffee while making as little impact to the planet as possible.
It’s not always easy, and we are continually looking into ways to do even better. We test everything ourselves, from the flavour and quality of coffee before it heads out the door, to whether or not our compostable packaging breaks down in home environments - it does.
For us, it’s not merely a ‘green’ box ticking exercise. Our environmental approach is the baseline to everything we do. Our coffee is always ethically grown, harvested and sourced. We roast at our warehouse in Bournemouth where our energy comes from the most renewable energy sources we can get our hands on and a top up from our solar panels. Wholesale orders are delivered by electric vehicle (it’s no longer possible to do it all with our cargo bike!) in tubs that we collect, wash and reuse.
