A journey from South American coffee farms to the edge of Dartmoor
Voyager Coffee traces its roots back to 2001, when travels through France and South America inspired a search for better coffee in the South West. What began as Coffee West evolved into Voyager Coffee, with the company opening its own roastery in Buckfastleigh in 2014 and taking control of sourcing and roasting. Today, the business is led by Emma Davis and her team, with head roaster Gabe Fill helping shape the coffees that leave the roastery each day.
Their Coffee Range
Voyager’s range combines approachable espresso blends with a changing selection of single origins, all roasted on the edge of Dartmoor. The focus is on flavour, balance and coffees that are easy to enjoy, whether you prefer rich chocolate notes, brighter fruit character or something in between.
Coast to Coast sits at the heart of the range, bringing together chocolate, caramel and gentle fruit notes in a versatile espresso blend that works beautifully black or with milk. Nomad offers a little more sweetness and complexity, while Road Trip is designed as an easy-going everyday coffee that lives up to its name. Fat Roc leans richer and fuller, with plenty of body and a more traditional profile.
The single origins add a little more variety. Walnut Cake, Blackberry Cake, Peach Marshmallow, Caramel Biscuit and Jammy Shortbread showcase different producers, origins and processing methods, with flavour profiles ranging from soft and comforting to brighter and more expressive. Trailblaze sits somewhere between the two worlds, bringing a little more adventure while remaining balanced and approachable in the cup. Their Sugarcane Decaf receives the same attention as the rest of the range, retaining sweetness and character without feeling like an afterthought.
More About Voyager Coffee
Voyager roasts from its headquarters in Buckfastleigh, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The landscapes of Devon and Cornwall have remained a constant source of inspiration throughout the company’s growth, helping shape both the brand and the coffees it produces.
Although roasting sits at the heart of the business today, Voyager’s roots are in supplying cafés, hotels and hospitality businesses across the South West. That experience still influences how they work, combining coffee sourcing and roasting with technical support, equipment expertise and professional barista training through the Voyager Coffee Academy.
Sustainability has been part of the story from the beginning. Voyager sources coffees from traceable and sustainably managed farms wherever possible and was one of the first roasters in the South West to move to fully compostable coffee packaging. The team continues to work closely with specialist importers to maintain transparency throughout the supply chain, helping ensure quality and responsibility travel together.
