A Poole roastery built on proper coffee, family life and one very busy kitchen table
Pearhaus Coffee is a husband-and-wife roastery founded by Edd and Charlie and based in Poole, Dorset. What began with home roasting, late-night ideas and a growing obsession with good coffee gradually turned into a full small-batch roastery and coffee bar, built alongside family life, two young children and a pair of well-walked dogs.
Their Coffee Range
Pearhaus keeps its range focused and approachable, balancing dependable blends with a small selection of carefully sourced single origins. The emphasis throughout is on coffees that feel balanced, comforting and easy to come back to, whether you are brewing espresso, filter or something slower at the weekend.
Birdhaus Blend sits at the heart of the range, bringing together chocolate, caramel and soft fruit notes in a profile designed for everyday drinking. Warehaus Blend leans a little deeper and richer, particularly well suited to milk-based coffees while still keeping clarity in the cup.
The single origins open things up further without drifting into anything overly sharp or challenging. Friends of Hulia from Colombia brings sweetness and gentle fruit, while coffees from Eli Espinoza and Jeremias Requejo in Peru offer cleaner, more delicate profiles with citrus, florals and soft stone fruit notes. The roasting stays measured throughout, allowing the coffees to express themselves naturally without feeling overworked.
Their decaf is treated with the same care as the rest of the range, selected and roasted to keep sweetness, structure and balance intact rather than simply filling a gap in the line-up.
More About Pearhaus Coffee
Pearhaus grew from evenings spent home roasting after trips to independent coffee shops sparked a deeper interest in specialty coffee. What began as a hobby for Edd and Charlie gradually became a small-batch roastery and coffee bar built around thoughtful sourcing, good hospitality and making better coffee feel approachable.
Today, roasting takes place at their Poole roastery using Stella, their 5kg roaster. Every batch is roasted, checked and tested by hand, with consistency and drinkability sitting at the centre of the process. Edd leads roasting and coffee development, while Charlie oversees customer experience, wholesale relationships and much of the day-to-day running of the business.
The roastery and coffee bar are closely tied to the local community. Customers can drink coffee a few steps from where it is roasted, chat with the team and get a better understanding of how different coffees brew and taste. That openness gives the space a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that feels genuinely welcoming.
Pearhaus is also part of 1% for the Planet and works with Ecologi on tree planting initiatives, alongside a broader focus on traceable and responsibly sourced coffees.
